My 4x4 07 Supercrew got 22 mpg today!

Seriously, I got 22 mpg today

Was it calculated by filling up, and then filling up again? That would be a negative. I used the trucks computer to derive my stats. It had to be close to an exact number.

What did I do to get 22 mpg? Bought some furniture with the wife at the DUMP. Its a discount store in DFW. Anywho, Loaded up the truck...and made a decision to drive 45-50 miles an hour. I could not believe that my truck was capable of this. By doing this speed on the tollway, my truck nearly doubled its fuel efficiency. Gotta admit, it was a little scary. People were flying by me

The grandmas were tailgaiting my ***... I guess the hazard lights were not a good indication that I was traveling slower than normal.

well at least you gave them a decent warning, everyone knows the old folks don't have the greatest depth perception.

Thumbs up

I have a 2004 crew cab, 5.5 bed, 5.4 engine, 4X4, 373 rear end (not LS) Lariat and I get 19.2 mpg at exactly 70 mph with cruise on (GPS verified) . This is on the Ohio turnpike, I take a 250 mile trip once a month. They key is to put it on cruise and leave the gas pedal alone. This is not instantaneous, but the computer average over the entire trip. The trip is 98% highway miles. I lose approx one mpg in the summer with max AC on. In the winter, I get over 19 mpg each and every time. Ive mad this trip about 20 times now.

Im envious of you guys being able to be excited about that kind of mileage. I took a trip to Cleveland to to see DMB and got 17.2 and I about jumped up and down. That was taking it easy, cruise set at 67, 1800rpm. I went to detroit in January for the NAIAS with stock fx4 wheels and tires(not stock for my truck though) and got 7.6, that was with cruise at 80mph in 10 degree weather and that was the worst I have ever done. Sure do wish I got a 5.4.
