Proud new owner of a F150
I have known that I wanted a F150 for a long time but I could not afford one until after finishing college. After some research, test driving, opinions from the forums (https://www.f150online.com/forums/en...preciated.html ) and a lot of waiting I finally own a F150. This week I came home with a 2006 5.4L F150 XLT SuperCab 4x4 with 22,000 miles on it. It is dark pearl blue metallic. I paid a little more than I would have liked to but it was the color I wanted and it has the XLT chrome package. I tried to get it for $16K but they would only let it go for $16.5K. I will post some pics soon!

First mod was taking of the dealer plate surrounds. Already have Weathertech floor liners ordered and the next mods will be tint, upgrading the factory sound system, and maybe a new grill sometime down the road.
What are people's opinions on Ford splash guards? I drive in a lot of mud and I think they would help save some of lower body but I am not sure what I think of the look. I had them on my old S10 and they really helped.

Says they are molded black plastic. Are these no good? I want to protect the lower body panels from rocks/mud but want it to look nice and not do more harm that good. I do not notice many of these on trucks around here. Any more advice? Thanks

I wouldn't for 2 reasons.
1. $63 bucks for a little plastic
2. they look rigid. if you go offroad, those things will be the first to get ripped off or crushed.
you'd probably be fine if the truck is just a pavement princess though.
The reason I'm so leary of them is because of a 4Runner I had. It had the OEM mudflaps that look almost identical to the link you provided. I was playing in the woods and went into a mud rut. When I left the rut, both of the drivers side flaps were gone and the sheet metal was bent where the screws had been pulled out
