Thumbs down My 2007 5.4L FFV RANT!

How have your trucks been holding up? First off I have a 07 crew with a 5.4L FFV. At 3,000 miles my engine blew up, and now my ac compressor just locked up My truck is 8 months old with 7,000 miles on it now. Not to mention Ford can't make my sliding rear window stop leaking/rattling and they messed up all the rubber molding around it trying to fix it. This is the third 04+ truck I have had and the other two are awesome and never had a single problem, I hit the jack pot on this one though Ford keeps replacing all kinds of stuff on the truck so now I own a 34,000 paper weight. Sorry for the rant just curious how others flex fuel trucks are holding up or is it just me. You think your truck may have problems try mine out! Ford won't even consider putting me in a new truck/ buying this pos back.

Sorry for your luck man. I have an 07 FX4 SCAB, and so far (knock on wood) she is running great. She just turned 13000 miles without a hitch.
Good luck!

It's the luck of the draw. Sometimes you get a good one, sometimes a bad one.

I know it isn't a 5.4l FFV... but I've got a '07 F150 with the 4.2l V6 5 speed... the only major problem I had was the A/C compressor clutch going, and the TPMS sensor in a tire, the battery ran out in the sensor in the wheel, thus making the TPMS light come on. However, that isn't really considered Ford's fault. The A/C clutch going can happen to anyone, as well as the TPMS sensor thingy in the wheel.

However, it didn't really leave me stranded or anything... so far it has been 100% reliable.

That sucks I had a 05 f350 powerstroke and it was a P.O.S in and out of the shop the hole time i had it, it blows when you make a big investment in a truck and it spends its life in the shop with one bs problem after another!!!! I have had good like with my 07 non flex 5.4 so far 9600 miles but they cant get my ac/heat blower to stop coming on and off as it wants to!!

I have an 07 fx2 with the ffv. just went over 9,000 miles and not a single problem. i think your bad luck is with the truck and not specifically the motor.

Looks like Tylus hit the nail on the head. With all the trucks made, sooner or later a bad one is going to slip out the door. I haven't had any problems with mine (yet) and I've had a supercharger on it the last 10k miles.

just hit 12k nothing but oil changes, i've read somewhere where they had like 1000 bad engines in the first batch of 07's, sounds like you gotta a bad one. did you call ford and talk to them? if they cant fix your leak, its just gonna ruin your truck.

I called and complained to Ford several times, Im actually suppose to a have a Ford zone manager meet with me later in the week to see if we can resolve anything to make me a happy customer, but I don't really exspect much from them, they have my money already so why would they give a crap about me???? They said my truck isn't a lemon and I have to accept the fact that it's a man made product and it can have it's problems. I looked at the invoices and with the new engine and ac stuff I have just about 10,000 dollars in replacement parts/labor in my truck already with just 7,000 miles on her. It's a big joke to them apparently and said it could be worse and I pretty much told them what they could do with that comment
