Can the front clip of the newer expeditions be swapped onto the '04-'08 F150's to give them the new look?? Bumper, hood, grill, and fenders?

same basic platforms, and the body lines are similar...but NO

You could probably make it work with lots of tweaking, but you can't do a direct bolt-up

btw, the new Expy front clip is the 09+ F-150 body style. The 04-07 Expy stuff should bolt up, but I would be very careful and double check before doing it.

 

04-07 expys dont bolt up to 04-08 f150's they are very similar but no, can it be done yes, has it been done yes, get good with an english wheel and you can do anything

 

If a hot rodder can mount the front end of a '49 Mercury onto the body of a '57 Buick Special, you most certainly can do the Expy/F150 swap. But not if you're just an average "cat" looking for a fun little garage project over a 3-day weekend.....

 

this will be a month or 2 project, at least.

 

it was my understanding that they shared the same sheetmetal

man... why cant it be like the superduty front clip swaps... that sucks

 

I've seen 03-06 Expy front clips installed on 97-03 and 04-08 F-150's. It's not a direct bolt on but it's possible.
