Awesome Mileage!!

For some reason, my 2004 4x4 is getting amazing mileage.

Before this past week, she was averaging between 18.8 and 19.2 on the highway @ 68-70 mph. This past week i went on a 700 mile round trip (all highway) and the day before i left i changed the oil, cleaned the MAF, and cleaned my K&N filter and she averaged almost 20!! Keep in mind this is a 5.4L 4x4 supercab, running a Troyer 87 performance tune. Maybe i should order up a "gas economy tune" and see if i can get into the low 20s. Im sure if i drove 55 or 60 i could do that now.

Here's a pic i snapped during the last leg of the trip:

When i crunched the numbers of gallons consumed vs. miles traveled, it came out to 19.7 mpg.

Unfortunately, this mileage is about to drastically change though. :o

I got 21.32 average MPG on the trip home from vacation to Port Aransas in my truck with a bed full of gear and 3 passengers. Not bad at all.

Well i was up driving at 6am to avoid traffic, but in the afternoon in the valley it gets up above 100. But even in the higher temp my mileage stayed in the 19s.
