Question New Exhaust - Is tune required

My truck is stock, engine wise, but I have a Banks Exhaust system that I have modified a little. Do you need to tune for this or will the computer make any corrections on its own?

No changes needed. Just turn the radio off and enjoy the 8 cylinder symphony.

Nope, you'll be fine. PCM will adjust fuel/air accordingly. I'm sure a tune could squeeze out a few more ponies having a custom exhaust, but isn't needed.

The only time a tune is "sometimes" requires in mods like this are cold air intakes. Some trucks run close to lean from the factory, and adding a CAI will only intensify that (depending on the CAI too.)

Ton of info here... if you ever decide to get a CAI read up about which ones require a tune and which ones don't.

A tune isn't necessary, but highly recommended, especially after you loosen up the exhaust.

You won't notice much unless you've gone true duals.
