July 6, 2008 - Breaking news from Cape Cod - President Lincoln has been assassinated.

Just messing with you. Seriously though, I can't believe the local newspaper is so far behind the eight ball on this one. The story has been out for over a year.

"$200-$300 per converter" Wow that seems a little high...
I guess the best way to prevent this is to remove them so there is nothing to steal.

Wow, cat converter thieves finally made it to Cape Cod? Must have been the last stop on their criminal mischief tour of the USA.

King 5 news up in Seattle did an expose on this in August/September time frame last year. Some poor guy had it happen 3 times in about 6 months. So he sat out protecting his truck with a shotgun...hope he got 1 or 2

they also said that Fords were a favorite target because most Fords (cars and trucks) have 4 cats

I had never heard of this crime, but can't say it surprises me. Out here in Hawaii though they don't steal just your parts, they usually take the entire vehicle.

the same crap has happened here, the thieves were so brazen that they even ripped off the converters from a local police dept.
I know crime happens everywhere, but its kinda funny to have someone steal you vehicle in Hawaii, when the largest island seems no larger than the state of texas... are there that many places to hide? ? Hawaii 5 0 where are you...
