electrical problems help

ok so im driving along and start to smell like a burning plastic smell and check my gauges but everything is good, then the radio shuts off so i figure alt is going bad and check guages again and the gas gauge drops to E, but all others are good, then everything turns back on and then the water temp starts to creep up.

so i checked the electric fans(which are tied into the a/c compressor) and they are not working, i check the fuses and they are all good so i figure its a bad controller so i switch to my back up controller and only one works. so i then test the fans they both work so my spare controller was bad too... so i need to drive 30 miles home so i wire both fans to the battery with a switch.

so then i check dtc codes and nothing...so i check the fuel gauge and its on e so i then shut it off and check fuses all good....so then i try it again and after a few seconds of running it goes up to the correct level as well as the radio turning on. also when the gauge is on e the windows dont work

so then i figure im good to at least drive home, so i get going and the ac blows hot air....first thought is the fans stopped working i re check them and they are both running, so i keep driving and all the way home no ac, just hot air.

so i bought a relay that i will use to tie into the ac compressor so that wa when the ac is on the fans are on and since i live in az thats pretty much 24/7 and thats really just what i need, so ill do that till i get a new controller

next is the guage im assuming i have a short or a bad relay

then the compressor im assuming short, relay, bad compressor, or belt is slipping

whats your oppinions?

Are these aftermarket fans? If so, how are they "tied" into the A/C compressor? Also, how do you know one of the fans is not bad? If one is, you'll drain the alternator and battery while overheating. That would also explain a bad controller (or two).

If you run your electric fans all the time, be careful not to burn out the alternator. It may not be capable of handling that kind of stress, especially with the cabin blower, radio, and lights on.

the wire going to the compressor goes to the fan controller and acts as a switched power to turn them on the controllers are made this way

ok so further review revieled i did loose a controller for sure....it was melted and melted more with a new relay, and im thinking that caused a short in the compressor and blew the ac clutch fuse, so that is all figured out and my ac and fans work now

but my radio, windows, and fuel gauge takes about 30 seconds to start to work, so i checked the accessory delay fuse, it was good....then i swapped out the delay relay and still same problem, now im lost.......

btw i have checked every single fuse in the truck
