Is it the headlight Sensor?

My 04 Lariat headlights when set to come on automatically started flashing and sputtering.
I just turn them on and off manually now(not that lazy), but was curious if anyone new how to fix this? (for when I am lazy).
I'm assuming that it's the headlight sensor.
Any feedback is appreciated.

This happens when you are calling for too much power from the stock lighting system. This usually only happens to people with HID's, you must run a relay drawing your own power from the battery if that is the case. You are running aftermarket bulbs and they often times have higher wattage than the stockers. Check the box and let us know.

I run PIAA's from my battery, but this was happening before I put them in.
It happened during cold months and in warm months was fine.
Anyone want a crack at it? Thanks in advance.
