Bastards broke into my truck for $2.00!
My last truck was broken into about a year and a half ago. They took nothing, and it cost me a couple hundred for a new passenger window.
A year before that, they took eighty bucks out of my wallet that I used to keep in my truck. Thankfully, they left the credit cards and ID.
So which break in did I prefer? The second, only cost me 80 bucks. Why only 80? I left the truck unlocked

That's funny, because I leave my truck unlocked half the time. But I have nothing in there worth stealing.
watch them pop your lock out to get in when the door is unlocked and they don't steal anything..
These are the plates to shield the rod in the door:

get one of those electric air horns and hook it to the alarm and inside the truck. next bastard that tries to steal your stuff will split pretty fast. I'm still debating on hooking my air horns up but I don't want them honking everytime I arm. But on the side of the truck- oh yea.
hahaha such a good idea
Do a search on this site and you will see how many times this has come up for San Antonio....it sucks. The thiefs around here know how easy it is to pop the lock on the Ford truck, just look at your example!!! They broke the window on the car next to you, but popped your lock, classic. Its gonna cost about $700-$1000 for repairs, I speak from experience. Just get the lock out of there and leave it be, they will just pop it again. When your driving around town or walking through parking lots, pay attention to the locks on Ford trucks, I guarantee you will see several a week that are missing, most people dont bother to repair.
I've got an idea. Why not just replace the panel with a chrome/billet one?

That would make it much harder to pop the lock. No???
