Don't even bother with anything less than 20% as you can see in the comparison. I have 15% on the fronts of my truck, factory 18% on rear sides and a 15% layer over the factory tinted rear glass. The Porsche has 35% all around and is just not really all that worthy. IMO

the law here in NC is 35% but slide the inpection guy some $ and they pass....

Any one that got 5% wish they hadnt gone that dark? And has anyone had trouble with the cops being that dark?

 

as far as police it depends on where you live.some cops dont even front about it and some will ticket for everything in the book.i myself in southeast louisiana have gotten hit by the police once(so far)and i have had the truck for 3 years and every vehicle before that had limo tint too.the tint is 5 percent but the meter the police use said 3 percent.i think after awhile you get used to it.at first its hard.now make sure you have a source to get a inspection sticker so you wont have to strip it every year.

 

I've got 5% all around and im not gonna lie, it makes driving at night ridiculous unless you keep the front windows down. I don't regret it though, I love it, and 5% on the front clear windows isn't even THAT dark, it could be a whole lot darker and still okay. The back ones with the already 16% stock with 5% tint on top is pretty damn dark.

Its a pain when its dark and tryin to park, i can't see a dang thing, its ok in the summer but not so fun in the winter

20% over rear privacy glass, Double layer 20% two front windows, Full Windsheild 35% with Limo Strip.. Day and Night driving is no regrats specialy with HID's

 

MA. allows 35% all the way around except the windshield... 6 in. for that.... they don't hassle you for rear sides and back... but some go out of their way for the front sides.....

Remember to check state laws regarding tint. Having "too dark" of a tint is probably cause for being pulled over. I think the legal limit here in GA is 32% (law passed in 06). After testing to see if your tint is too dark, some cops will run their key over your tint so it scracthes and tell you to get it fixed with a lighter tint (asshats)

 

ya know thats destruction of property.cops cannot legally do that.at least in louisiana.most people get scared when police bark out useless lies and comands.i had a cop do that on a friends car and a lawyer friend of mine delt with it.the police department had to eat the ticket and had to compensate my friend for retinting the windows that were illegal in the first place.only in america

 

im at 30% and completly regret not going darker, if i could do it over again I would be at 15% all the way around

 

I just got mine tinted today. I have a question though:

My guy told me i cant roll the windows down for a whole week. My friends who have tint said they had to wait like 3 days.

How long did you all wait until you started rolling the windows down???

 

I waited a little over 3 days. I have heard anywhere from 2-7 days, I don't think it matters too much.
