Replacing Throttle Body
I have a thorttle body ordered through my local dealer and I'm really hoping it helps my problems... at least some of them.
I'm probably going to bump a few dozen of these P2106 threads right now.
khendrix2374, did changing the throttle body help for this problem? My truck just crapped out on a 8 hour trip making it a 10 hour trip. I so badly wanted to push it off the road and set it on fire!
Damn guess I should explain. I was driving from Wichita through Springfield MO and the truck was doing pretty good on cruise control then all of a sudden the ABS light, wrench, and engine lights come on and I loose engine power. I pull the code and I have P2106 nothing else. Now I have way back in the past got a lean condition. I put the truck in neutral and coast, restart and clear the codes. It would drive for about 2 minutes and the same thing again this time it didn't matter that I wasn't using cruise. I had to pull off the road and use my wireless internet to read about clearing the PCM by removing the negative battery cable and grounding that to the positive. That would get me about an hour or so driving till I would have get the code and pull off to do it all over again. Now before I started this trip, I rotated the tires, changed fuel filters, and cleaned my S&B cold air intake filter. So umm yea I'm kinda freaked out right now as I don't know wtf is broke.

Just driving down the interstate it would do that?
Because that's exactly what mine does PLUS the whole stalling out at stoplights thing too.
I havn't gotten the TB yet.
"It's on national backorder" was what I was told.
I ordered it Almost 2 weeks ago and it has not made it to my local ford dealer yet.
$250 for a complete thottle body (TPS and actuator).

I'm hoping this fixes it. If not, I'm gonna try a fuel pressure sensor.
If that doesn't work, I'll drop the gas tank, replace those sensors and check all connections.
You might wanna go to Walmart or an autoparts stroe and get a code reader or if youhave an XCAL2, use it.
I keep my XCAL2 plugged in 24/7 because it messes up on me multiple times everytime I drive the truck.

I just had to replace my throttle body after the battery died.....i replaced the battery and when i started my truck the engine light came on. The dealer here considered it part of the emissions system so i was told i had to pay for it out of pocket ($365.00) with labor. Did i get screwed? Thanks, Kevin
Khendrix, your post sounds very similar if not exactly the same problems I had. I will tell you how I fixed it for good. I would sometimes be pulling up to a light and I'd let off the gas, the truck would surge forward right as I hit the brake (about a half second upon letting up on the gas pedal). It would also go into failsafe mode shortly after turning it on, I'm talking only 10 seconds after starting it at times.
I cleaned my throttle body, this was all gunked up and glad I did it. Looked like new again, I have pics of it in an old thread I started. It helped throttle response. I am going to do this when I get home now that I think of it. I also tore apart the TPS sensor and cleaned that.
The issues did not go away, so I bought a new TPS sensor (it was an updated version), replaced that. Absolutely 0 difference, so I came back on the forum and Quintin had been telling me you need to reflash your computer (about 100 bucks at the dealer). The PCM does no recognize this new part, you need a newer flash. I had my doubts but I eventually did it, finally it fixed it. Get the latest flash for your computer and get a new TPS sensor.

I had a similar issue with my 04 with 55k miles. It would stall out in stop and go traffic and to make it worse my AC in idle was blowing HOT air. Then it started throwing the P0506 code. It didn't appear until about a month after getting some custom tunes for my Edge. I also have the Volant intake and Magnaflow Catback. I looked in the Tuner and Chips section when my first P0506 code popped up and the solution found there was to clean the throttle body. The final straw that made me act was when it went into failsafe mode one morning.
I took the intake off and stuck a shop rag down there and it was ridiculously gunked up. I could easily see how the throttle body would be sticking in low idle situations. I went thru about 5 shop rags before I finally took the throttle off and cleaned it with some degreaser. I wish I had took some pictures, it took about 15 mins just to clean it correctly. It's easy to remove, 4 screws hold it into place and they are pretty easy to access.
The results were instant. My idle RPMs went from 450-500 to a steady 600. This also fixed my poor AC problem and now my AC blows cold (as cold as our AC's can). I am pretty happy that the idle issue fixed the AC issue as I was comtemplating putting a valve on to shut off the heater core.
I would definately recommend cleaning the throttle body before ordering new parts. The difference in my truck was night and day.

I cleaned the throttle body and replaced the TPS. No diff.
I need the latest reflash I guess, but that will require me to send my tuner back to the place I bought my supercharger and have it reprogrammed for my new PCM code.
That'll be another few hundred bucks.
I keep looking and looking for another vehicle to trade it in on. I'm not willing to "settle" for somthing, thus, I havn't found my perfect vehicle yet.
