Odd seatbelt problem....

went in last week for and oil change and to get my pass seat belt buckle looked at. the buckle wouldnt catch the belt sometimes. well they had to order a new buckle and would be in this week.

i go back on mon afternoon around 3pm and it takes the tech all of 10 min to replace the buckle. so i leave and all is good. about 3 miles down the road, i see the airbag light on. i call back to the dealer and they say bring it back.

well tech walks out and says when you unhook the buckle, it will set off the light and just a few cycles of the key will turn it off. we go to the truck and he says watch. he cycles the key a few times and says see, it is off. i say no it isnt, it is blinking.

well they pull it back in. next thing i know, the head tech is looking at it, the pass seat is out and they are getting me a rental. well the next day they say a new buckle will be in after lunch. well now here it is on wed and now they are ordering a new wire harness. doesnt make sense to me, but oh well.

so now i am 3 days without my truck and i need to haul things on my day off tomorrow and i am stuck in a grand cherokee.

just weird i go in for a new buckle and now it is a wire harness.....

well when i went yesterday to see what harness they we talking about, the tech that worked on it first came out and said that he misplaced a lil clip that holds the connection together and that was needed to keep the light off. only way to get the clip is with the harness. so since i needed my truck, they got permission to go out on the lot and take the harness out of an 08 sitting there and will put the new one that comes in today back in the one. so i am good to go now. it did take 2 buckles though. and at least the tech admitted to what happened.......
