Remove Factory Running Boards?

Should I remove my factory running boards? Or does it look better with them?

I think other boards would look better.

Take them off. If you don't like it, put them back on.

I like the clean lines without the steps.

Remove them.

Those black ones are horrible!

The chrome ovals are the shizzle!

Keep em on of you use them. Take off if you don't. One good thing about the black platform running boards is that it keeps you rocker panels clean and stone chip free.

I just got a new FX4 and the first thing I did after bringing it home was remove the black running boards. Looks so much better without, IMO.

I have factorry set on my truck but they are the aluminuim finish looking ones. I have been thinking of taking mine off to see if it would improve my gas mileage due to less weight and less drag.

In theory any weight reduction will help but you'd need a rolling CSI lab to measure it with any degree of certainty. A full tank of gas weighs more than those running boards.

I had those exact same ones and hated them. Took them off and it really helped the appearance.

It would depend on whether you have people using the vehicle that might find it difficult to get in without any step bars or older people who might have trouble with nerf bar style due the shape and size. A regular fairly flat running board is much easier for them to use. If you don't, I would say get nerf style bars.

I'm going to take mine off summer and put 'em back in winter. These, however, do an awesome job keeping the rockers protected. First truck I've had with 0 rocker damage after years of use.
