Stalling

I've developed a love/hate relationship for my truck.

When it gets up to full operating temp, which doesn't take long when it's 90* outside, it stalls out and dies frequently... mostly while ideling at stoplights or "no-load, slight throttle" situations.

Injectors are new, MAF is new and clean, fuel filter is new, Throttle positioning sensor is new.

I've had this problem since I owned the truck. It would only happen maybe once every 2-3 months at first... then it moved to about once a month. NOw it happens usually multiple times in one day.

I just leave my XCAL2 plugged in because I have to clear the trouble codes to get it out of "Limp-home" mode.

I'm desprately looking for solutions. I've been trying to get back to a dyno to get some diagnostics and some better tuning done, but I simply haven't had the time yet.

Any ideas?

Also, I just pulled all the plugs on Sunday to cheack the gaps and they all looked fine.

HT0 Plugs gapped at .032 (7.5 PSI boost)

Someone in anoter thread mentions "Idle air speed" needs tuning or somthing, but he didn't elaborate.

Then only coeds I'm getting are ones indicating that the truck has goine into "Forced closed throttle" and limp-home mode.. nothing that actually "states" a problem.

When I first installed the IAT sensor, I didn't wire it good. I got a trouble code for "IAT sensor Low Volatge"

I cut the wires and re-connected them with "professional" quality. I'd like to say that it's eliminated from the equation, but it could be the cause. I doubt the sensor just outright failed though without spitting a code at me. Who knows? I'm so damned frustrated with this truck right now.

Disconnect and plug off the vapor management valve and see if your problem is still there. I've seen faulty VMVs allow liquid fuel to get to the vapor line going to the intake, effectively flooding the engine and causing it to stall.

Thanks Quintin!

When I figure out what all that stuff is, I'll look into it. Thanks.

I just wish I could pinpoint what the problem was... if even I couldn't fix it. That way, I would actually know somthing. What I know now is tat it stalls... ALOT.

It seems to do it more when it's hot outside.... At night it doesn't do it as much.

I took a 30 minute drive today to go get some stuff. I had to stop at least 5 times to turn the truck off and restart it.. usually having to clear a trouble code at the same time. This sucks!

Anyone wanna buy a truck?

New upholstery? Haha reminds me of those carfax commercials. Sorry to here about your problems. You have no idea how many times I questioned myself that lately.. Good luck, at very least here's a bump.

I've been combing Carfax and ebay looking for a car... It's gotta be a black on black on black 05-06 Mustang GT, with a stick.

I will be getting rid of this truck come August when I move back to Kentucky
