Im sorry for yelling but that is the way I feel right now. I went to have my truck inspected and when they plug in the computer into my truck up under the dash it doesnt work. I know its not there computer b/c they tried it on another vehicle. What should I be looking for. Im thinking its my hids b/c when I turn on my hids with my fogs my high beam indicator on the dash is lit. If I just turn on the hids with no fogs it works normally. Does the ground in this situation have anything to do with it

 

Check your fuses I had the same thing happen to me. I am not sure which one it is. I hope this helps you out.

That would be my first guess. When I first got my edge I plug it in and it didn't work. I then checked the fuses and it turned out to be a blown fuse. I would double check them just to make sure they didn't miss anything.

 

it's not your HIDs, mine do the same thing, and i also have my edge plugged in to the obdII port, and it works. tell them it's their problem, and say the dealership was able to use the port, or some BS like that. make them take care of it.

 

so you guys think that its the fuses. I have a quick question. What is the easiest way to check the fuses with out taking them all out. The reason I ask this is b/c I;ve seen the fuser testers for the standard fuses but not for the mini fuses.

 

they check ur computer for inspection??? wow.. here in texas all they say is "roll down ur windows, so that i cant see ur tint" and "turn ur lights on... ok here you go, you want me to put the sticker on for you?" and thats about it...

 

The fuse for the cigar lighter/DLC is blown.

 

X2! I thought Virginia was bad! They just check tint percentage on top of all the other standard stuff like lights, brakes, wipers, etc...

 

Here in NY all they do is check the computer.

Anywhere "city" related is a full OBDII test..

 

reffer to your owners manual for the proper fuses or take a test light and make sure it is grounded correctly and on the top of the fuse you will see 2 tab metal things put the test light on each one and if it lights up on both sides the fuse is good and if it lights on one side and not the other then the fuse is blown.but some accessories arent powered at all times so somes fuses wont light at all.hope this helps.
here in southern louisiana they dont check computers or emissions.depends where you go.some places check for everythng and others check your insurance and stick the sticker on.in the major cities in the state for state tags they check everything including emissions and some cities here also have their own inspection so you dont need a state sticker.its a big pain in the ***.i need a state sticker so i go to the places that dont check squat.

These emissions devices are funny... anyone with enough know how can defeat them.. and then turn around, and make the vehicle such a smog-maker it's not even funny.

Those emissions devices are a total joke.
