What's the Private Party Value

What should I ask for it. I live in the Midwest.

I have a 2004 Ford F-150 XLT super cab 4x4.

37xxx miles
red exterior
tan interior
Captains Chairs
Pwr driver seat
heated turn signal mirrors
5.4 liter
MagnaFlow Dual exhaust with 3inch Stainless tips
20" Moto Metal Chrome wheels
305/50/r20 nitto terra grappler tires

factory 17" wheels/tires also included
factory step bars
truxedo tonneau cover
stone shield
6 disc cd
trailer package

I don't really have to sell it. I don't drive far enough to worry about gas prices. I sell cars for a living, and want to go back to the 04 Mach 1 I drove before I bought the truck. I know what it's worth to the black book auctioniers.

04, Scab, XLT...but with rims/tires/exhaust

maybe $17k...but I think you'll have a hard time competeing against dealerships with Lariats and FX4's that are loaded...especially as you can get 06 Screws right now for $18-20k with low mileage, or mid to upper $20's for brand new

I would guess around $16,000 if you are lucky. I have been watching the local dealerships to get an idea of what mine is worth and its looking like around 17,000 for me, a fully loaded FX4 with 41,000 miles.

My neighbor just traded his 05 Dodge 1500 extcab 4X4, 23,000 miles, loaded with leather, 18"wheels, exhaust, nerfs. He got 16,000 for for it when he traded it in 3 weeks ago. Granted that compairing a Dodge to a Ford, but it still gives you an idea.

dodge doesn't count. they're not a real manufacturer anymore. I have to appraise their crap everyday. It's just that! Complete crap!!!

I paid $17,500 for my 2006 scab 4x4 with 17K miles on it about 3 months ago at a Ford dealership.

You need to get intimately familiar with both edmunds.com and kbb.com.

good luck trying to get 16K. I just bought a truck last week and deals are aplenty. 10-13K off is normal considering the gas prices and 2009 models

FX2 with captains chair, supercrew tow package sells new for $18K. A new Lariat sells for $22K. I picked up a nicely loaded Lariat with side steps, tow, parking sensors, captains chair for 26K. This was last week.

Edmunds hasn't caught up to the realities of the market. I paid a grand under what they listed as wholesale (trade-in) for my 2006 last month...at a Ford dealer. That was about $2500 under private party and almost $4000 under what it priced out at for dealer retail.
2006 lariat 4x4 loaded up with 9700 miles for $20k and change. You are looking at $15 something. 2006 XLT's with under 25,000 miles were all over town at $18k
