High Pitched Chirping whistle?

Ok this is really hard to explain but its annoying... When i have my windows down and music down i hear this high pitched whistling noise as i roll down the road... Its not affected by speed, acceleration, braking, turning..anything.. its just there... Now the problem is its so hard to tell if its in the front, back, left or right. At first i thought it was one of the front wheels, now i'm second guessing and saying its the rear wheels.

I noticed it before my lift, and its still there so it wasnt the lift that that did it.. If you guys have any clue please chime in.

I will try to get a video of it but its hard when you have my exhaust and wind drowning out the sound

I was hearing a high pitch noise with my windows down, traced it back to my tailgate. I greased it up real good and that fixed it.

I greased the latch up real good(a lot of grease) and also put some on the post attached to the truck. The noise was coming from the drivers side.

I hope the tail gate lube fixed your problem, but I have a hard time with that thought. How many miles on it? Could be wear indicators on a brake pad or two making the noise, or a parking brake hanging up. Might want to feel the rear rotors for excessive heat. It could be a number of things since your explanation is so vague.

90% sure it's the tailgate, I had the exact same issue until I finally realized it was coming from the bed. I sprayed some wd40 all over the latch on the tailgate/truck, and the squeaking was gone. The squeaking comes from those rotating cylinder post things that the gate latches on to.

Damn, and here I thought NBS had brake pad wear indicators. Good job dly97on diagnosing speedy8's problem, I'll remeber that when it happens to me.

Yellow- that has got to suck hearing metal to metal.
