what you have to do to get them off is not worth it

Just tape them off and paint away

Well a bud of mine has a sand blaster and can do powder coating so I was thinking I'd pull them off and blast them and then coat them, but from that diagram that looks like a lot of work.

Yes, they will come off. Sometimes they will just slide off but most likley just tape around the outside and pull.

So Stang5.0, then do I need to take the rotors off and all off first like in that diagram, or can I simply take the wheel off and pull them off?

take the caliper off, let it drop somewhere

remove the rotors

your going to have to take the axle out. (take the nut off, and try to push it back, if that doesn't work, take the strut off so you can push the spindle down to get the axle out of the way.)

the hub has 4 bolts in that back that have to come out

you will probaly need a slide hammer to get the hub off.

sometimes i'll use an air hammer and walk around it around and it pops right off

heck sometimes i need the slider and an air hammer

That sounded like more work than I wanted to do... so I took a shortcut. I took a drill with a wire brush bit, and knocked off all the rust, then I cut the bottom off of one of those mega-cups, and I made it so it would just fit around the hub... then I sprayed it with some Rust Treatment, let that dry, then I hit it with some Rust Stop black paint.

They came out looking great.

I still have the caps.. but I was going to get some rims that I was going to run without the center caps, so I wanted to paint them black to match the black rims. Now I'm not sure which wheels to get so I may have done it for nothing, but it didn't cost much and it sure looks a lot better than when it was all rusty..
