Question about lifting a 2wd

I plan on adding a 2.5" AS and an OEM 4x4 rear block to my '04 2wd Supercrew Lariat. My question is will I need to upgrade to longer shocks? If so what do you recommend.

No, you don't. If you want to upgrade shocks, just go with the Bilstiens or Rancho's. They both feature adjustable spring preload which eliminates the need for a leveling kit.

I should be getting a set of OEM 4x4 blocks and an AS 2.5" from a member soon. I was just curious about the shocks.

I wouldn't worry about it. Shocks are good for another 2" of lift before it becomes a big problem. I'd suggest upgrading the shocks though especially while you've got the whole front end torn apart. It'll make a big difference. I say go with the Bilstein 5150s and than you don't even need a spacer.

I 100% agree, I love how my truck looks BUT the ride is to jumpy, I mean when i hit a pot hole the tires bounce real easy.

I am thinking of upgrading to the bilstein 5100 even tho I know its going to be a pain to rip everything apart again.

So you're saying that just by going with the Bilstein 5150s I wouldn't even need the 2.5" spacer?

I meant 5100s. The 5150s are the rear shocks with res. mounted to them. What you want are the 5100s, they are adjustable for one or two inches of lift. It's got a spring collar that adjusts where the spring sits on the strut. It's a good riding shock and Bilstein's quality is bar none.
