My basic 03 XL has a light, so I would *think* yours does. It's not smart running it too low, it takes fuel to cool the fuel pump.

When you turn the Ignition on the low fuel light should light for a second?

As long as the needle moves a little when you put the ignition on that means there is something there.

People always say you shouldnt run them to low or you will drag all the crap up off the bottom of the tank. Might need myth Busters on this one.

dude i have an stx too.in the odometer area will say low fuel there is no light.also when the low fuel message comes on the first time you have 50 miles till you run out of gas.i push my gas to the limit usually 30 miles after that message appears i get gas.also you will have to push the trip reset buttom to clear the low fuel message and it will come back on and chime evey 10 minutes till you fuel up.

You might want to drain your tank and replace the fuel filter.

doesn't the pump already draw from the bottom?

There's no low fuel light. "Low Fuel" pops up on the message center by the odometer.

Pretty close to the bottom, but I bet that little filter bag on the pump works a lot harder on a tank that's almost empty. The increased sloshing would stir up anything that might be on the bottom of the tank, or one would think.

My fuel guage rarely reads less than a 1/4 of a tank. I've never seen my low fuel light.

Never had a problem with the message not resetting. Fuel up, turn on and go.
