while mud flaps aren't my thing, you did a great write up for people who know how to use the earch tool in these forums. that being said, you do have to take the bad with the good. people will voice their opinion no matter what, it's just a part of life.

Here is the site... http://www.duraflap.com/ford-f150-b.html
I got the ones without the weights so they are $75 for the front and $85 for the rear. I asked before ordering them and was told that you don't need the weights to keep them from flying up when driving... and now I can tell from how stiff they are that it really isn't an issue. So I guess the weights are more for looks, but I'm not a fan of the chrome look (ya ya ya, I know they are actually polished stainless steel)

Thanks... they were never really my thing either... but I came to realize that (for me) the benefits are worth the look of having mudflaps on the truck. The fact I really don't like the look of mudflaps is part of the reason I looked around so long to find these mudflaps... I didn't want to install a cheap set of molded plastic mudflaps or anything.

I'll post some pictures of the entire truck once I get a chance to take them... the mudflaps are fairly subtle when viewed from a distance. They have a mat black finish that blends in with the tires and whatnot.

add the molded running boards and there will be no junk on the side of the truck

When we bought the last 10 f150's (2006 and 2007's) we ordered the trucks with the solid molded running boards and we added the mud flaps after they arrived.

We have to travel on the farm dirt trails and drives to the houses, constantly had mud all over the sides of the trucks, now with the molded running boards and mud flaps we rarely have mud and road wash on the truck sides.

We have a neighbor who bought 2 f250's about the time we bough the first f150's (( we had been using a fleet of Dodges that all had in excess of 300,000 miles), he added the rail type running boards / steps, and no mud flaps.
After a short while he was complaining about the mud on his trucks, while ours were clean
he has since replaced the metal tubes with the molded steps and added mud flaps, he is happy now and his trucks tend to stay a lot cleaner, he runs a welding service

Or for people that actually get dirt on their truck....
What constitutes that a semi should have them, and not a pickup truck. Semis spend all day running up and down paved roads, why should they really need them. Im sure there are a lot more F150s that see dirt/mud/gravel than their are semis

Anymore everyone is only concered about looks instead of function.

I like how the rear ones go all the way up into the fender. Should keep a crap ton of mud out of the bumper and fender.
I like the cleaner look of no mudflaps too, but Im really thinking of throwing a set on...its impossible to keep my truck clean, and the paint is already FUBARed from all the gravel. Probably throw the nerf bars back on too just for the fact that they keep a lot of dirt and gravel from getting to the side of the truck.

My sediments exactly.

So, on that note, I’ll triple the “hideous” remark.

For the price you paid for the fronts alone you could have gotten the complete set of solid molded flaps from Ford. Much more finished “looked”. I recall paying ~75 for the set of 4 a few years back.

Still need some work on that tact too……

your molded mudflaps look like ***. As do your half chrome mirrors.

I'd rather spend the extra money for the better product.

BTW - its spelled "Sentiments"... unless you are referring to the rocks in your head in which case "Sediments" is technically correct.

is that tactful enough for you?

Stop the madness!

Why is everyone harping on each other, I have had MF's on my truck and enjoy that they keep the truck looking cleaner and more protected then nothing at all, while I too agree that they don't look good either so its a catch 22.

I run the Ford molded MF's during the winter months and remove them for the summer and I really like what how your Duraflaps cover the rear wheel well and bumper but I wound not pay that much for a set like that.

Lets keep the comments down to a dull roar.

Better product? Are you seriously kidding me? They’re MUDFLAPs genius, not brake boosters.

So I see you enjoy offending just about anyone who happens to post on this site with your apparent lack of sense, tact and respect.

You go on and enjoy those flaps that look more at home on a Kenworth than a half ton truck…LOL.

Wonder if you’ll be this full of P&V when you grow up? That’s too bad.

I was also checking to put some mudflaps, so far the ones I like are the ones designed specially for the F150, they look great in my opinon.

Of course if I can't get them at least I could have some other mudflaps to stop the dirt on my truck.

Sorry to say but you started the atacking when you took it like personal and responded to laekmarykid "...I didn't ask for your opinion..", which was a mistake from you.
You, just as him, have a different opinion and if you wanted to respond to him it should have been some elaboration about why chosing those mudflaps..., and not by telling back how ugly his and that.. stuff is..., you see? that's just naybe.

I personally don't like them either.., and because there are a lot of differents products I don't have to like all of them, we KNOW telling someone we don't like what they bought or install etc. is not like good news, but sometimes is just fine to say it, and more so and objective and honest response to the original poster so he knows is not something for the general taste, you should apreciate those comments just as the ones from the people who liked them.

whatever

to be honest, I could care less... cause I drove home in the rain tonight and yet I don't have dirt and sand all over the side of my truck... and why? because I have mudflaps. And in my (sometimes less than humble) opinion these are the best looking mudflaps I've seen so far.
