swapping seats

I was wondering if it is possible to swap to captain chairs from the split 60/40? I have a 2004 stx new body style. And if there is the factory mounts for the captain seats and the center council. And what years are compatible?

The captains chairs and the outer 40's are the same seats. When ford puts a console between them, they call them captains chairs, with the center seat they are called 40/20/40 split bench. If you want a console, an XLT style console is a direct bolt for the center 20 seat. Four bolts, five minutes tops.

The XLT console is the one without the shifter, can be found on ebay for about 2 bills. search under "F-150 console"

Thanks i did not even realize that the center seat didn't move and when i went out and checked it didn't.... so i have to say thanks and i think it will make a big change in how the truck looks. So that is going to be on my wish list and is most likely gonna happen soon. I just have to say THANKS!!! But this may be a stupid question does it just go over the seat or do you have to take it out completely?

You have to unbolt the center 20 and remove it from the truck and the console goes in it's place.

alright guys as promised here are the pics of the center console. install was pretty straight forward. you need a t-50 torx bit and a breaker bar. just search and there are hundreds of install threads

new console!

perfect clearance for the manual transcase lever

LOTS of storage compared to the fold down

heres the new back
