Hello All,

I have an '08 F150 FX4, Supercab and the brakes seem a little weak to me... Is it just me? Now I am not a mechanically inclined person so bear with me.

When I am, decelerating rapidly it seems that the truck doesnt stop fast enough. What would be the best upgrade I could get? What all would I need? or Do you think the brakes are good enough and I am expecting too much?


Any help at all is greatly appriciated.

 

It is a common complaint that the stock brakes are pretty bad.

I sell alot of stoptech brakes/centric pads and people love them. I just installed a set on my truck and actually look forward to doing hard braking....I know, I'm weird

I have an 08 and mine stops on a damn dime. Its a regular cab STX. Maybe that is why? My last car was a Jetta GLI with Brembo custom brakes all the way around, that thing would stand on end! So I should not be impressed with my trucks brakes but I am. I will say this, I test drove an 08 Screw and it's brakes sucked!

 

I've had a 2005, 2006 and now my 2008 and the 08 has the best stopping power out of all of them. I'm very happy with the 08

 

I so wish I had gotten the 4-door.
