I just picked up 20 Bags of Mulch from Lowe's last week! I can attest that each bag weighs at least 50-60 Lbs a piece easy!..........

Part of what makes them so heavy is what type of mulch it is. There are some dryer cedar type mulches that don't weigh very much, but this was hardwood mulch which is very dense.

I hauled some mulch in mine last summer. Dont know how heavy it was but the truck squatted pretty good. I backed up to the pile and they loaded me with a front end loader till the bed was heaping..... Twice. My son and I, and about 20 other Boy Scouts mulched every tree in town that day. The lesson learned was: be sure to row up the windows before they dump the first scoop !!!!:o

I work at Floor & Decor (Im 19 by the way) one day i guy came in with a ridgeline and i loaded a full pallet of tile in the bed weighing around 2,000 pounds, well his tires were bowing in and i told the guy "that truck cant handle that much weight" but he drove off any way barely haha. of course i had to tell the guy he wouldnt have had this problem if he didnt buy foreign junk

Now Im not positive on this but I think the Honda's are 4 wheel independent suspension, meaning no solid rear axle. They are a car with a truck body. You put two fat guys and a case of beer on the back and you have exceeded the weight limit !!!!

I have a 2001 F250 I used to snow plow with. In the winter I would have 2 pallets of salt (5000#) plus the plow on the front. Truck did great!!! Ford, there is no substitute.
