thinking about getting a body kit......

well as most of you know, i now own an FX2... i think one of the only things that i have a problem with is the fact that the front spoiler hangs lower than the rest of the body. so i was thinking, maybe just getting a set of side skirts, or possibly getting a whole lower body kit. i havent made up my mind yet and wanted to see all of your opinions. and see what kind of kits you guys have found. here are my thoughts on it as of now:

#1. when i drop it 2.5/4 and put my 22's on it, it wont look as bad.

#2. just get some side skirts to help it flow and hide the frame rail that hangs below the body.

#3. get a whole new body kit.

i kinda like the 3Dcarbon kit like what Anaheim drew has, maybe he will join in on this discussion.

I like the idea of the body kit. The one Anaheim Drew has from 3d Carbon will not work on our 07 FX2's. They are made for Lariats only. Our trucks do not have the Lariat type fender flares. The 3d kit does not work without the flares. I have talked to the guys at 3d and they are working on a kit that works on a truck without flares, i am hoping to get one of the first ones when they are released. They told me they wont be ready for a month or so.

Get Lariat style flares and the 3d side skirts and rear kit. Keep the stock Fx2 front, obviously.

It will look PIMP. Oh, and do a 2/4 with 22s of course.

i dont want the fender flares. if anything, i would buy the kit and modify by shortening it for the regular cab and making it work without the fender flares. i just dont know what to do about the section going into the rear bumber.

you could always mix and match pieces like i did. i didnt like the complete body kits that were available for my reg cab, so i picked the pieces i did. i think the dg motorsports side skirts are the best because they are simple and have clean lines. there are alot of good front options from fx2, harley or roush valances, to various bumper covers. i went with the street scene cover and am ok happy with it. you also have a pretty good selection of roll pans too.

another plus to mixing it up is that you will have a more unique truck

I take it you have to call them to get prices on the individual pieces?

I wish they would make a kit that would work with supercab's its REALLY foolish for a company to only make a set of molds for the screw 5.5 bed combo. and not all the others.. I know I would like to use the sideskirts from the 3d carbon kit myself... I also wish they would make the skirts at the rear of the bed roll-pan friendly

the only thing is that i havent found anyone that makes a roll pan for a flareside. and to be honest, i dont think one would look good on these new body style flaresides. i i need something that flows into the rear bumper nicely.

very true, but i dont even like the cervini body kit. its too loud in my opinion. if all else fails, i may just get the 3Dcarbon skirts and FG what i have to to make them fit properly. shorten them and FG them back together. i still dont know what i want to do as far as the rear bumper... i dont much care for the 3D bumper skirts and stuff. i might just scratch the whole thing and just be happy with it lowered.

i talked to 3d again today and was told that their new kit has been pushed back again. Now they wont even talk about a release date for a kit that will work on a truck with no flares. i ordered the DG motorsports side skirts today!
