First Mod!!!

Well the wife left early Sunday so I spent the afternoon with my other baby. And no not my girlfriend I really didnt like the color of the lariat grill so I hit it with a little Krylon fusion. Ok, I actually used a lot, basically a whole can. That honeycomb is hard to paint! The whole process took alot longer than I was planning due the the pain in the butt clips on the surround. I actually ended up trimming back the plasting tabs that hold the clips in place. It allowed me to bend the clips more. I only broke one tab, and that was before I realized that trimming the tabs made it alot easier. After I coated it with a coat of Krylon Matt finish and let it dry over night, I bolted it back on this morning. Looks a lot better IMO, and will go toward the white and black theme Im going for.

Funny how much a grille can change the entire look of the truck

Nice

I've been playing around with the idea of doing this to my old lariat grille too.

Thought about doing the same myself but wasn't sure how the paint would hold up so I spent $20 on ebay for a new XLT insert with the Ford emblem. Looks much better than the tan.

Well I am looking to "downgrade" the whole truck. I want the look of an FX4. But I really didnt think about trading with an XLT. Didnt think anybody would want a gold grill.

Now you should hit up the Chrome Nurf Bars with that same color.

Just a Thought.

You and me think alike Strauser24. I was actually thinking about coating them in Herculiner. It would hold up alot better especially since Ill be stepping all over it. But I have read that the bars could rust from the inside out and I dont know how well it will bond to the chrome. But yeah, the bars are on the list, probably right behing a AS 2.5 and an AAL.
