Window regulator/motor replacement

About a week ago I was driving at lunch when I heard a loud pop, like someone had hit the outside of my truck with a baseball. I pull over and check but couldn't find anything. Well that afternoon on my way home, the driver side window just started going down all by itself. The switch did nothing. Once I got home, I pulled the door panel to find the cable for the windows mechanism was very loose. I ordered a new window regulator assembly from Tasca Ford. Once I got the old one out, I could see the issue. Somehow the cable jumped off one of the pulleys, was cut, and then all wadded up in the motor. I replaced the entire assembly and all works great again. I had no prior windows issues at all so it surprised me this happened. But I must say that was the easiest regulator I have ever changed out. It took less than 30 minutes to do all of it. Ford made this change out very straight forward and easy.

Hmmmn, I had that same noise about a month or two ago. I was driving down the road, and it sounded like someone hit my passenger door with a rock, or baseball. When i got home, i could not find a mark on the doors. I better check out my window operation. I have not rolled down the windows all this winter....
