For proformance the only one I have heard of is an intake mod that is pretty cheap, try searching Gotts intake.

For apperance
Acetone the badges(Take the black paint out and have chrome badges)
Paint your headlights
Get a can of Nightshades and tint the tails and 3rd brake light.

The list goes on and on these are things off the top of my head.

Sorry man, it is for the 4.6 though. The easiest cheapest mod you could do is swap out the factory muffler. I did mine for about $80. I went to Murray's and picked up a 2.5" SI/SO Dynomax muffler, 2 pieces of 18" extension pipe, and some clamps. It took me a whole hour to do the swap.

Here is a sound clip, mind you I have the 5.4 but you will get a much better sound. The stock muffler on mine was around 32" long, the Dynomax is only 10-15"

I loved my Dynomaxs on my 5.4L !! They are one of the deepest mufflers.

Wow, that does sound nice! Especially for that price. How does it sound in the cab? Im looking for that nice sound, but I dont want it to be loud in the truck. We take alot of weekend trip with the family in my truck, dont want any extra sound in the cab.

I have almost no noise in the cab. The only time I can hear it inside is if I am next to the median with the windows open. I'm kinda pissed that it's not louder but hey, thats what cut-outs are for.

Buy a set of needle nose pliers from Home Depot and then pull the silencer out tube out of the intake.

you can cut half of the intake canister off (one side) to expose the filter cone to give you a cheap 'cold air intake'.

i've been down your road, and to tell you the truth, i've found myself living by the "do it right or do it twice" method. as far as performance mods, don't skimp. save your money to spend on an intake, tuner and good exhaust.

When I first got my 05 screw I was reading here and the cheapest thing you can do is this. Takeyour air cleaner off and inside is a piece of plastic known as a silencer. It is onthere to cut down on whistling I guess. Get some pliars and get a hold of it and tear it out. Helps out on airflow. Boyd

as a fellow 4.6 owner you want two mods first.
1. Rip out the silencer from the airbox ~$Free
2. Buy an EDGE ~$300

From there start shopping for intake & exhaust
