hillbilly deluxe build thread

I've been lurking for a while, and i think it's time to send a teaser your guys' way. the e-fans are going in, and new Bilstein circle track shocks are on, and rims are out for powder coat. I even have a something up my sleeve by way of Matt Hotch (the one from biker build off)

here's the beginning of plenty of pics... (because i know one of you smart ***** will give me that 'this thread is useless without pics')

looks pretty good, but arent you afraid that the filler will stress crack as the body flexes??? i know i would be. filler is only supposed to be used at a 1/16 inch.

theres a piece of 1/4x1 bar stock thats welded in to fill in the gap below the filler. i think at the thickest point the filler is 1/8".

believe it or not, with the new compounds, 1/8" - 3/8" is ok for filler. premier plus or rage gold fillers are so smooth, you don't even use spot filler. the adhesion is far superior to 'bondo'

nah, the sig is a rendering for color combinations. it is that low though. well, a little lower in the front.

Cole - the bar stock filled it in perfectly, and gave enough of a gap for the bondo to bite to. If i did sheet metal, i would've still had to smooth it out with filler. six to one, half dozen to the other i guess.
