Rear suspension creaks/pops/groans
Sorry I should have explained better. I understand what you are saying but I don't understand how the aal could be shifted. The aal is the only one that is misaligned. Is there anyway for me to check without have to disassemble the whole leaf? I used Deep Creep, a lot actually. I also stuck little strips of rubber in between the aal and the last leaf. There is still some creaking noise! I am going to have my roommate drive my truck and I will roll underneath with a mechanics creeper.
The pin holes aren't close tolerance holes. That means there is a little room for the leaf to shift. A little bit of movement at the center will multiply towards the ends.
Edward, I had issues with those AAL's shifting too. I took a c clamp to bring them back together.
Make sure all the bolts are tight too.

i think i understand what you mean by shifting now. do you mean as in the side is not flush with the rest of the leaves? usually the is a clamp around the leaves the hold them strait and i know that when i usually add a leaf to a truck i heat and unfold this clamp, then add the leaf and there is usually enough room in the clamp for one more leaf. if that has been removed you can fab something up.

Thanks for the help guys.
Had the same problem at about 20K miles. Took it to the dealer and they cleaned the springs and shoved grease in between the individual leafs in the spring pack. It started making the noise again at about 34K so I took it back. They told me it was pretty much a normal noise, was not considered to be broken and the only "fix" (which doesn't make sense if it isn't broken) is to lube the leafs. They did this again. Noise stops. Service Writer told me he would do it free w oil changes.
It's your leafs. The dealer replaced mine back when I had a warrenty but it came back.
Whenever I have spare time... about once per month, I'll crawl under there and lube up the leafs. I use a large screw driver to pry the leafs apart and lather them up with grease.. not WD or any other spray stuff.. but nasty grease. It works for a little while, but it'll always come back.
Bad design.

its not a bad design its just an old design. leaf springs havnt changed at all in the least 100 years. they are tried and true old school and cheap. newsflash... leaf springs make noise. nothing unusual there. its a truck, not a benz
I guess I am going to try grease. I literally DROWNED the leafs in Deep Creep and White Lithium. I am 99% sure it is the leafs. Pat came by today and we tried somethings. He also got a video he should be posting tomorrow.
I know "it is a truck" but I want it to sound like a 2005 and not a 1955.
The noises don't compromise the integrity of the suspension do they?

Not unless a major part is about to shear off, but I'm sure Pat would notice if something was about to break.
My leafs squeak also, and they are only a few months old. I'm going to have to lube them up soon. I don't hear the noise with the radio on though.
