Living in Texas

When I used to live in Fort Worth (for 8 years), we were at the local park when "softball" sized hail came down, out of no where! Many people were injured, getting hit by that sized ice!

-- Sorry to hear about your truck! --

That sure is one thing I do NOT miss about Texas!!!

Well I took the truck into the shop Monday. They called me today to give me the run down.

Windshield needs replaced
Hood needs replaced
Grill needs replaced
Third brake light needs replaced
1 window sill trim
PDR on the roof, bedsides, 1 fender

I'm going with a PTM grill surround (truck is an XLT), Reflexxion "Cobra" hood, stock 3rd brake. So I hope I'm happy with the results. The body shop said it would be done Friday, but they didn't say which Friday... The wifes truck goes in when my truck is finished. Her truck wasn't half as bad as my truck was but I am going to have them PDR a dent out of the passenger door that my wifes dizzy friend put in it along with all of the hail dents. Gotta love the Midwest!

No doubt! Those of us who were born and raised in So Cal would think armagedon was here if we saw hail that size!

The only hail that I've ever seen was about the size of shaved ice that I put in my Coke.

after second look in the daylight I do have some minor dings from that 1" hail. Must of been some bigger stones out there. I'm not going to claim anything on the insurance these are rather tiny dings. I'll wait till it gets hot then spray a bit of canned air upside down on them.

Last time I had hail damage it was almost $5000 I waited on the repairs and the oklahoma sun popped them all but one out. Free money since my rates didn't go up and I paid my car off.

$5000 I'm in the wrong business. This is my second F-150 to receive hail damage. I had an 06 that I had to replace the hood on in the May 06 hail storm! There's no way the heat would have touched any of my dents this time! It's always all or nothing for me!

Ouch.....2 years ago i flew out to Cali to buy a Mach 1. When we was driving back as soon as we got to Oklahoma city that crap started to fall, and no lie they were baseball size. Well Once I got back my insurance paid to have it repainted, but I found a guy that pulled all of them out with no paint work. Even had money left over for full exhaust

Rubbing dry ice on them also works great

^^^ heck ya. I have seen it work !!

Man, I am really sorry to hear it. its funny, about a week ago we had some "big" hail come down for almost a good 5+ minutes. I was freakin out (we don't get hail around here) and worried about my truck (no garage for it). I got a couple small dings, nothing I couldn't remedy myself.

But Those are effin HUGE. I can't even imagine hail like that ! Any damage to the house ? Everything else ok ?

Again, sorry to hear about it bud, hopefully you'll get something "extra" or "cooler" out of the deal.
