Tips for post mounted spotlight
Tips for post mounted spotlight
Hey guys. Has anyone installed a post mounted "police style" hand controlled spotlight on their 04-08 F-150? I was looking at adding one as a cool toy. I have found one with the mounting kit for our trucks for $179.00 online. I was wondering how involved the install would be. I assume it involved notching the door. Any specific tips, experience or especially pics would be appreciated.

Where did you find it for that price? I'm assuming it's not Unity brand. Anyways, contact me with your questions or ask them here. Also check my old thread on it, I have recommendations in it.
Thanks Josiah.
I cant call the name of the website now, but I wanna say it was magnalights.com or something similar. I dont know for sure if it was a unity or not, but you implied Unity cost more, so I am assuming not. I am in the "exploratory" phase for this mod. I have a hand held Q Beam that is probably brighter anyway, but I just liked the way it looks. Old school. I found the Unity spots on Ebay all day long, but none of them are specific to our application. Any further info on this topic would be appreciated, would love to hear your recommendations. Depending on the degree of difficulty, I may have someone install it for me. Too much body modification will scare me away.

Well the damage is irreversible. But it's essentially knowing how to use a drill that you need to do well at, and who is incapable of that. I just found the cheapest place I've seen, it's about $169.99 with the install kit, you need the 330GM model. So look on ebay for that. Here is the website I found it for so cheap at.

I've been looking at an electric cutout, but I'm not sure I understand it 100%. So... I have the cutout ahead of... the Borla (??) and then when I want to ride quiet, I flip the switch?? Or does someting else hook into the cutout??
Josiah,
Im having trouble finding any good pics of a unity spotlight installed on these trucks. I checked your gallery, and I can see the light on your truck, but I was wondering if you could shoot me a couple of pictures from the inside, so I can see exactly how it all blends in with door, etc. I would appreciate the help.
