Gatorback Serpentine Belt Install Help

Anyone with pics and/or directions for changing out this belt? I did a search and didn't find any helpful information. Thanks in advance.

All the information you need is right under your nose when you open the hood, literally

If you look at the radiator cover there will be a sticker displaying both the 4.6 and 5.4 belt route.

Get a 1/2 break bar, put it in the tensioner, and push down to release the belt... very very easy job.

They are way better than the stock belt.A lot of people who add tuners to their trucks experience belt sqweal under hard acceleration, with the stock belt.Gatorbacks eliminate the annoying belt sqweal.

No chirping or squealing from the belt

Well mine is a 4.6l, so I don't know if its the same... but it was more on the passenger side when standing in front of the truck. It's like an arm almost that has a pulley on the end of it with a square socket entrance (aka breaker bar) in the middle of that pulley. Basically it's the only one that will move when pressure is applied.

I believe the drawing also shows the tensioner (indicated by dotted lines as opposed to solid lines)... but I could be wrong.

the part number varies from year to year, even for the same exact engines. Best move would be to use the goodyear website and look up the correct part number for your year and engine model. I did that and then bought my belt through Autozone.com.

That's funny, no belt should last 100,000 miles, including the one holding up your pants.

Just because of his awsome sideburns. It also says he got 500,000 miles out of the belt.
