as promised

as promised here are the pics (not many, sorry) of my 3.25" spacer and 3" rear block install.

the before (very old pic, forgot to take one today, was to excited to get to work!)

after (girlfriend car is a little in the way, she pulled in as i snapped the pic)

front shot

the rear block

and for those curious a pic of my upper ball joint to show a spacer larger than 3" can safely be installed on a 2wd truck.

and for comparison, my friends stock 2wd KR next to my "lifted" 2wd XLT

install took 3 1/2-4 hours for both the front and rear. it was pretty easy except when i dropped the strut on my foot .

that looks like a lot of flex on the ball joint... I don't think anyone doubted that t a 3" or > spacer would fit. It is definitely going to prematurely wear out your balljoints. Looks good though, be careful with it.

thanks. i took it to the local dealer afterward for an alignment and they said the ball joint isn't in any real danger of failure. but i intend to keep an eye on it anyway. now i just gotta figure out what tire to get, nitto TG's 285/70/17 load range E, or BFG AT KO 285/70/17 load range c.

You'll need an alignment after the tires as well. Keep in mind you're adding about 1.5" inches right there.

would you say that you are taller than a standard 4x4 now?

Also in the pictures it looks like there is tin foil on your door and mirrors! i know it is just pictures though.

yes, i sit slightly higher than a stock 4wd, not sure exactly how much as i didn't measure the difference between mine and an fx4 at o'reily's when i was ordering new shocks. Rancho RS9000PRO's to be exact. and yes its the camera, the lense is scratched. its actually chrome on the door pillars and mirrors. what tire should i go with?

Where did you find a 3 1/2" spacer? I'd suggest the BFG's, I had the Toyo AT's before and the BFG's I have now are way better IMO.
