Yea, anytime I change anything in the front suspension I get one. I had to put a new tie rod end on too, so I got an alignment for sure.

But I would get one either way. It'll drive fine for a few days, but I wouldn't push it too far

Hey it looks real nice there jimc2004 . I also did the same as you. I took out my 2" AS leveling kit. And i have to say it seems to ride real nice now. Maybe its just the shocks but its a night and day difference. I set mine on the 2" spring perch location and its the same as what i had with my 2" leveling kit.
I'm very happy with mine and anybody sitting on the fence about getting these shocks get them, you will be glad you did. The ride is smooth and firm and they eat up pot holes in the road. My stock shocks were as soft as pup chit when you compressed them compared to these. I gave mine a few coats of clear coat to keep them from getting discolored from all the salt and sand up here in the winter.

I did not even think about doing this. Did you just tape off the piston rod and spray the shock body?

Are these shocks "supposed" to be made from a non-rusting material?

they're zinc plated, but i have no idea how well they hold up to the elements. i got a used pair for the rear and when they got to me they were a little dirty. 10 minutes with a metal polish and a rag and they looked almost as good as new, so you may be able to maintain them if you like.

Yep thats it.
I just taped off the rod and gave the body a few coats. They look like new still. Nice and shiny. Another member here told me to do that.
Thanks SKRWZ's for the idea.

Are you getting any rubbing on the tires? I"ve got the same shock setup, but i'm hesitant to get the 325/60/18's for fear they'll rub.

hmm thats odd. Mine only have the 0" or 2" settings. Do yours have 2 or 3 rings on the shock body for the spring seat.

Yes, they are NOT threaded like more expensive coilover units, and have to be uninstalled to adjust height.

Mine had 3 groves cut in the shock.1 stock. 2. 1" lift and 3. 2" lift. It came set on the 2" lift.

About the 0-1-2 or just 0 and 2 inch settings......Ive been reading up about these shocks a little the last few days and I read a thread about the same thing.

It seems the earlier model shocks had just the 0 and 2 inch setting, but the newer models had the 0, 1, and 2 inch settings. Thats what the guys on here seemed to put together if I remember correctly.
