Scann Guage II owners w/5.4

If you have an 04+ 5.4L and you have a Scan Guage II and would like to be able to read oil temps you need to call Scan Guage. I just talked to them and now they realize that this can be read on our engines (Edge is doing it). They said they would add the code to the list but it may be a while. He told me if more people called and requested it they would do it quicker.

So, they're number is 888-433-5664 then dial 11. Will take less than a minute. They want you to call!

Honestly I don't know. SG people initially told me they couldn't do it on the 5.4 3v (only thing I asked on). I found out Edge gets it though so I called them back and told em. Once they found out someone else is pulling it they said they would add it.
One way you could check is to see if the Edge Evolution can pull it. That will tell you if its doable. From there its just a matter of calling SG and requesting it.

Interesting... did they give you the X-Gauge Hex code for it? Or are they doing research?

Yah, I love mine. I was pulling my trailer empty to work this morning and left it in OD. I looked down at the gauge and noticed the tranny temp was up to 178. I took it out of OD and it dropped back down to 169. If I didn't have the gauge I never would have thought about the tranny heating up with an empty trailer. Just another example of why this thing is so nice.

ManualF150, no they didn't give me the code. They said they would work on it then add it to their list that's posted on the website.

07FX4CHICK, I don't know why they don't offer oil pressure either. It is obviously available since I have it on a factory gauge. I'm sure if you call and ask about that they could add it too. Generally, pressure isn't an issue though. It would take a serious problem (like oil pump failure) for the pressure to drop to a dangerous level. If that does happen you usually have seconds to get it shut down, not minutes, before you spin a bearing or sim catastrophe. I figure I have as good a chance noticing it happen on the factory gauge as the SG.

Good thread here, email sent as well. Also mentioned this was a feature available to gauges on the Edge and I purchased their product to replace the Edge. I asked for the hex code and will post back if they email it.

Nice to remove the Edge and POD and have this slick compact little unit on steering column. I'll sell my Edge Evo to anyone local - 250.00 or BO, cash, you pick it up.

I called it in..

They researched it, and the 4.2l v6 and the 5.4l V8 offers the sending unit... but they need to find the HEX codes for it still. They say it will be up ASAP on the X-Gauge PDF!

I spoke to Joey... just for your info.

Can't wait...

It cracks me up. When I called they said they would get to it in around a month, but if anyone else is intersted to call. I bet they have been inundated with calls and emails now. Power of the net!!

I not only sent an email, I called them a while ago. The guy on the phone told me that they have been "slammed" with calls for "this request". I asked how many calls and he told me over 50 so far!

He also told me it should be a week, at the most, to get this code out on their website.
