Carriage Works Monster Bar

I'm thinking about ordering this in the next few days. CW has a updated their website and has a new pic:

i'm kind of puzzled though. the description says:

F150 Monster Bar Replaces OEM Honycomb & Bar Style Center (Except FX-4, XLT, Harley Davidson & Lari, Polished

wtf does that mean? so it replaces the honeycomb and h-bar so long as you don't have an fx4, xlt, harley or lariat? basically all f150's? i'm thinking they got the description wrong. also, there seems to be some confusion about the lower as well. moss motors states it's for 06-08 but the pic clearly shows an 04-05. CW's website says all years. weird...

so now that you see the new pic and this one:

what do you think?

Seems like they could have washed the truck before taking the picture! That looks terrible for an advertisement!

I've been looking at the same one, and from what I can tell by reading the installation guides you either have to cut out the honeycomb part of the standard grille, or pop out the bar style part of the grille for the XLTs and FX4s. Then you can screw/bolt the new grille in place... I was looking for something that just bolted in which is why I'm leaning towards the HD...

Edited to Add: Here's the install guide http://cwgrilles.com/pdf/4410.pdf

well if the center section just pops out and the CW grille bolts in, why is that any different from the harley? my dad's CW grille on his fx4 was simple. remove old Hbar insert from surround, bolt in new CW insert, reinstall on truck. if the MB grille is the same, it shouldn't be an issue. I'm looking for an HD grille style replacement without the exorbitant price.

yeah i'm with you on that... I'm really close to just biting the bullet and getting the HD, but I'd really like to see the black monster bar replacement grille.

How you've described it sounds like what I'd expect installation to be, but I can't be 100% sure without actually trying it myself. When your dad removed his Hbar did a bunch of the tabs break?

Edited to add: I'd also like to have a emblem on the grille so I can keep my Diver Down emblem.

well i did it with him/for him and i can't remember 100% if any tabs broke or not, but i'm leaning towards no. i think i'm going to call CW tomorrow and ask them what's up. this latest pic kinda has me re-thinking my decision though. kinda looks a little odd on that truck. maybe it's b/c the truck is fugly.

I don't like it if you have to cut out your existing grille and that it still leaves that black trim part from the stock grille insert.

I prefer the replacement style grille where the bars extend all the way out to the grille surround.

seeing it on the green truck is changing my mind. the pic in red doesn't look to bad, but when i saw the green....

i'm leaning towards the harley more and more, but damn, i could almost get a catback for what they cost now.
