4wd problems then failsafe??

Not even sure where to post this but today about 30 miles into my daily drive home my 4x4 hi and 4x4 low lights started flashing, i pulled off the interstate and of course it wouldn't go into 4wd, after I cycled the key it started working again.

I took it out later tonight to see if it would repeat the issue, well 4x4 hi worked with no issues, however low would not engage, on the third attempt to go into low it finally slammed into 4x4 low, right away the truck went into failsafe mode???? I cleared the code with my dashhawk and now it seems to run fine? Anybody have a similar issue?

Electronic shift **** on the dash, I was sitting still in neutral each time I tried to shift in 4 low. When it did go in, it slammed it home and instantly went into failsafe mode. 2005 Lariat supercrew by the way

I have been having the same trouble with my 05. It seems to happen to me when it is colder. Have you had the problem lately or have had it fixed?

I pulled all the electrical connections and cleaned them with electrical cleaner and made sure they were good and dry, haven't had the issue since. Not sure if that fixed it or what?? Of course the dealer could find nothing wrong and couldn't replicate the problem

Thanks 05SDScrew I am going to give that a try. I hope this will cure the problem for me as well.
