New to the site

What's up everyone? I'm new to the site. I've got a 2004 STX 4.6L with a Superlift 6" lift, 35" ProComp XTerrains on 17x9" ProComp XTreme wheels, flowmaster dual, ram air hood, Precision Grilles vertical billet grille, Westin Bull Bar w/lights, Westin wheel-to-wheel nerf bars, TorqueMax Traction Bars, and Fire & Ice tailgate light. Because it's just an STX, it only has the grey cloth interior, no tach, and shifter on the steering wheel. I want to upgrade it to the black interior, leather, shifter on the floor, higher model instrument panel, moonroof, and vents; I just don't know how to go about doing that, can anyone help? At some point I want to swap out the engine for the 5.4L as well. Would I be better off just selling this one and buying the FX4 or Lariat so I have all that, or is it reasonable to do all these upgrades?

Nice looking truck, I have an XLT and I'm in the process of doing the interior swap....it is a lot of work and very time consuming but it can be done. Depending on whether you have the $$$, patient, and time to dedicate to it....then go for it, or if you can return your truck to stock(or close to), get the FX4 and add everything to that.

Thanks man. I looked at your pictures, pretty sweet truck. Where would I get the parts to swap out the interior? Would I have to actually take it to a dealership?

Sweet truck!

I would return that back to stock as much as possible and install all your equipment on a fx4 or lariat. That would be a lot of time and $ changing out the motor and interior when you could just buy one with those options already installed from the factory.

Just my .02

Thanks. Yea, that seems to be the cheaper route. I already sold a lot of stuff cause I'm moving, so pretty much the only things I could keep are the bull bar, nerf bars, fire and ice light, and maybe the lift. I kept all the original parts they gave me back after installing the lift, so hopefully I'd be able to get those put back on, the only problem might be getting the tires to fit.

I would buy new. Return to stock, save mods for the new truck. Even if you can find all the parts to convert your stx its going to take a ton of time, and then your just hoping that you end up getting everything to look even close to as good as a stock lariat or fx4

So say I have to leave the lift on cause of the tires, should I sell it privately or just go for a trade in? The upside to a trade in is that I might be able to convince them to take the stock hood and grille from the new one and swap it out with mine since I sold the original. I just won't get as much money.

Nice looking truck. But I would have to say it would be alot less $$$$ and be alot less time consuming to move your parts to a FX4. But hey if you have the extra dough and have enough time....why not?

Thanks for the compliments on the truck. I think I am just gonna get the FX4. I was thinking about maybe going with a used one to save some money, but I've always bought new. Any suggestions if I go the used route?

Would anybody kind of know a ballpark estimate of what it might cost to change the interior to match an FX4? Leather seats, matching carpet, moonroof, dash, door panels, the whole nine yards.

That's it? Wow, I may go that route then. What about moving the shifter to the floor, would that require a different transmission?
