exhaust question

Im thinking about getting a magnaflow SI/SO put on. Is there an advantage for getting the whole magnaflow system compaired to getting the muffler and having the local shop do the piping and saving some cash? is there a performance difference?

My .02 is get the muffler and have the exhaust shop do it. I got mine to cut the muffler out, make and adapter for the 2.5 to connect to my 3in and run a tailpipe out the back for $125. I supplied my own muffler. I don't think payin $300+ more for a full catback is worth the lil to no advantage.

I went to my local exhaust shop and had them cut off my factory muffler and weld in a new Magnaflow SISO muffler which they supplied - I only paid $120 for the muffler, a SS tip and the labor. The sound is great and it "feels" like I picked up a little low end too.

I went to the local exhaust shop, $250 for SI/DO Borla, dual tailpipes, and SS tips out the back. Sounds great and IMO much better than paying $400 + for a catback.

I don't, it's really quiet in my cab unless I stomp it then you can hear the exhaust growl.

None for me either. Can just barely hear it inside the cab when cruising. Normal talking easily drowns it out, unless you're accelerating.
