Unhappy Part Numbers ? ?

Well, long story short I destroyed my E-brake out wheeling last weekend. I need new Rear rotors, backing plate and everything else that would have to do with the E-brake (shoes, springs, cables, etc) wondering if anyone could point me in the right direction for parts numbers and correct ordering. Thanks.

I have a 2004 Ford F150 (new body style)4.6 L, 4x4, 6x135mm lugs. Supercab w/ 6.5' bed, XLT package. I appreciate any and all help.

Do you use the e-brake? if not, just remove them and don't worry about it. To replace everything will run you about 5 bills, way too much for something nobody uses. As long as the outside disc on the rotors is ok you can just trash the cable operated drum setup and you will still have back brakes.

uh definitly replace it MT. Not using the E-brake puts the weight of your truck on your transmission gear. I never used the e-brake either until my first transmission blew up at 72k. Now i ALWAYS use it no matter what, even on perfectly level ground.

AND your truck is lifted on heavy tires. I would replace it if I were you.

Of course I will replace it. NEVER, EVER put your truck in park (on a driveway) and allow your truck to roll hard back into your Parking "tooth". I have seen these snap one too many time. I work on Mercedes that no longer have a working "p-tooth". PLUS, I am one of those type of guys, having something NOT working correctly on my truck would drive me nuts !

And I understand about the money thing, but I have a small advantage. Actually, I will make money, wont cost me a thing. I bought the extended warranty, I am my own mechanic, and I can do my own warranty work. I make a full price estimate, they send me the check, I do all my work at cost, with no labor charge. The money just goes into the shop (my shop). At the MOST, I will buy my parts at costs, and do my own work and not worry about extended warranty. (And yes, this is covered. Already asked)

Yes I use the E-brake. I off-road quite heavily and leave my truck parked on some STEEP hill sides. I do not want to simply trust the small little "Parking" tooth. Plus it sits on my driveway for a week or two at a time, no need to have it go rolling away !

Also, the inside of my rotors are torn up pretty good, plus my backing plates took a BEATING, so it would be nice to have those back in good working order. Thanks for the tip and advice. I would definately be doing what ya said if it weren't for my situation.

THANK YOU for your advice tho fellas.

Check out my Parking Brake shoes:

For sure, got two of em, one on either side. Just drive up and park over em. Keeps the truck from rolling back into Park.

(and the passenger side is bigger)
