Removing Nerf Bars

Has anyone attempted to remove their nerf bars on an '07 F150? I have the Ford factory installed bars on my FX4 and am wanting to take them off. I don't have the time to put in that it seems to take to keep them looking good. Just wondering how hard it will be.

What kind of nerf bars are they, Aluminum, or Chrome?

I am noticing excessive seat wear and I think it's because I don't have nerfs. I am actually looking for some, so if any of you want to get rid of some el cheapo, let me know. supercab

Ford replaced all of my interior cloth (both front and back) because the drivers seat was showing a little wear.

Good to know it's that easy. I have the chrome ones and they require a lot of elbow grease to even get them looking decent after washing. Not to mention they are already showing small rust spots.
