Front Bumper Install ?

I just smacked a civic going 10mph and my front bumper is bent in like a tin can. Has anyone replaced the bumper themselves ? I've found some pretty cheap oem chrome bumpers online and I'd like to just install it myself if its not that big of a deal.

Also does the front bumper of an 06 fit an 07 ?

Thanks guys.

you wouldnt think it would be that bad at 10mph!! On a side not its just a matter of finding the bolts and loosening them up

LOL....It took over $12k to fix it. Looks like just a bumper and suspension in pic but it put a small dent in the frame. My truck has a whole new frame under it. I was pissed at first and didnt want nothing to do with it. Its been 4 months now and not one problem out of it.

I did my truck twice no fog to fog then to painted with fog and I did my wifes from chrome to painted. Wasnt very difficult just a little of a PITA to get it under the upper bumper when reinstalling. The brackets are a little different but should be close to the same. Just do it, it really isnt that hard.

Damn, Yeah I'm in the same boat, I got my truck a year ago brand new and its been immaculate every since. This bumper deal has been a heart stopper. I'm ready to get a new one on asap.

Where do you guys recommend getting one.
Looks like the forum suggests Tasca Auto Groupe a lot. Is Ford dealer bad or will they gouge me? Calling them today just like to hear what you guys think.

Can you detail how you took the chrome to paint? I am interested in painting the chrome bumper as well. Thanks

Tasca Ford is awesome, they are right down the road from me, it's where I go for service, they are great, & have been in business for over 60 Years!......

I actually swapped front bumpers with a member here that wanted chrome. I bought a new bumper for my wifes truck. It is more cost effective just buying a paintable bumper. It can be done but you have to DA the crap out of the chrome then comeback and apply a etching primer, cost is very labor intesive but it can be done.

Fixed

I couldn't take it anymore guys !! A messed up bumper was too much for me to handle any longer. I bit the bullet and got a overpriced part today at a local dealership.

FYI: Tasca Auto Groupe was by far the cheapest and most knowledgeable people I found on the internet. Even with $100 Shipping. I just didn't have the patience to wait for a part.

Install wasn't that bad, just a general pain in the butt.

Thanks for all your input I really appreciate it.

Moving the mounting Brackets from old bumper to new.

Nice and pretty again.
