Straight Axle Conversion - YAY
Rear Lights - Nay

I used some old KC backup lights in my dodge because it was so high. I mounted them behind the bumper shining down at an angle towards the rear of the truck. It made a WORLD of difference in backing the big thing up, and you couldn't see the lights at all.

Nay on the flush mount.

This is what I did:

I drilled into the hitch where it meets the frame and angle cut the extension so the lights look level. There's I beleive a 3" bolt going from the bracket up into the hitch with a washer, lock washer and nut.

It works well and the bulbs and lights are easy to replace.

I agree. You can at least mount under the bumper, maybe on the towing package. It will be less of an eye sore and will still funtional.

Tbird69 beat me to it. Go with rectangular lights under the bumper.

I am with ya tho Tonka. Seeing that now has me on the fence about it. Seems pretty simple and straightforwards, and would allow you to keep your ground clearence.

You guys running them under your bumper... do you go off road ? Ever dragged that rear bumper on some dirt, rock, mud, etc ? ? Were they still there ? Thats whats kept me from doing that. Worried I would rip em off on my first outting w/ em.
I have been thinking about some sort of reverse mod for something like this:

but again... on the fence. not sure how to mount it to look nice AND function well.

Go for it . I think it would be bad a$$,and to the guys that say it would be easyer to just put them under the bumper that lame.Your just going to rip them off when you take your truck off road, atleast this way its neat and flush.I think it woud be worth the work
