Unhappy explanation?

every ford i have owned except my 2004 f1fiddy and my 08 f 1 fiddy had a light in the ashtray. is there some specific reason we cant get a light because you sure cant see the ashtray in the dark. i currently have a very small light plugged into the accessory plug that produces just enough light to see the ashtray by. just wondering why no light are us smokers that much of an outcast that we dont deserve a light.

You should be shot for smoking in a new F-150 with the windows up. I smoke in my 04 sometimes but always with the window cracked and i have never used the ashtray.

Yeah... my '07 has a stupid cup for an ashtray...

My '99 has a nice slide out drawer for two cups, with a lighted ashtray the popped out from under the cupholder... and best of all, it was standard across ALL models... automatic or standard shift.

I hate the way mine is... my only cupholder is by the stick shift on the floor... and it is totally impossible to access while in 2nd and 4th gear! Who the heck thought of that nasty design!? Not only it's friggin' dangerous during the night or even during the day because I'm taking my eyes off the road just to find my drink.

The very bottom piece of the center dash - before the console flow - is a spring loaded door for the ashtray.

Put your damn drink where it's supposed to be -- between your legs in a snug-fitting brown paper bag......

Smoking? In a car? Perish the thought........

I am glad that the ash tray doesn't have a light. That is where I keep my garage door opener and also where I put my cell phone when in the truck. So it would get really annoying, since mine is open 99% of the time, if there was a light there.

Come to think of it I am not even sure if our 05 Focus even has an ash tray, I know that my 01 Monte Carlo didn't.

How do you take the ashtray out? I have a '08 STX and can't figure it out.. probably something really simple but I don't want to break it.

I smoke in mine sometimes, but I buy an air freshener out of guilt for every time I smoke in it. Its always with all the windows down though. Its time to quit at any rate. I'm almost there, its down to the point were I smoke so little I dont even think about doing it in my truck these days. Hard habit to kick.

I smoke in mine with the window down. And when it's 20 degrees out I keep the vent heater cranked and pointed toward the window. I get some strange looks when it's that cold and the window's down..

Wow, and you live in Vermont? That's needing a cig pretty badly.
