wire

It's the only picture I had, sorry kinda blurry, but you can see the location of the black and pink wire. I hooked it with a loop to mark it in the pic.

There is also a reverse wire on the passenger side under the kick panel by the fuse box. I dont remember exactly what color it is, but I have my aux reverse light relay tied into it with a rectifier diode.

If you need a pic, PM me and I'll snap you one in the daylight.

What does one do with the reverse wire? Add more light?

For those with a backup camera, the head unit taps into the reverse wire to know when to put the camera up on the head unit screen.

I am not sure if you got a tow package. but if you do there is one wire going to each trailer plug that will read hot in reverse. I wired two back up lights one to each plug that come on when it reverse.

You should get +12 volt on that wire, i.e. touch one lead to the stripped wire the other to ground and it'll read 12volt when the truck is in reverse. It won't work unless the key is in the ignition and turned (you don't have to start it though, that would be a wild ride )

Ok. Sorry for the delay, but here is how I did mine. I picked up the black with pink wire directly above the fuse box on the passenger side behind the kick panel. I tapped with one of those little tap things you can buy. Then I wired in a diode inbetween to keep current from flowing back into the factory system. I taped into an unused port on the fuse box and fused it and sent it through the power relay. I ran down the cab and out the little rubber port in the back. Then I fished the wire through the frame and out by the trailer hitch. Then you add your lights/siren what ever you want right there. I also have the relay to where it can be energized by a dash mounted switch so that I can kick the lights on if I am hooking a trailer.
