Domed Emblem Overlay

Couldn't find anything recent in the search so had to ask...

Anybody had any luck finding domed overlays for their truck? Need one for my tailgate after being replaced from a hit and run. Seems like devries signs isn't around anymore and they had really nice ones.

Thanks,
Steve

I could never get one to work on my truck after two sets of overlays. I finally got pissed and painted the thing.

No one has made the domed overlays in quite some time. I'm 99.999% sure that you're SOL on those. For a regular decal, check with Dustin and Cindy at Patriot Decals.

What folks need to remember is that the 2004-2005 ovals are smooth and the 2006+ have raised "Ford" lettering. That raised lettering makes it very difficult to get a decal to stick, etc. I couldn't get them to work on my brother's 2007.

One other option is to get a complete replacement oval made by Steve at Billet Badges. phatboyspam had some made and HIGHLY recommends them. They'll just cost you a lot more ... probably $60+ each.

I got the patriot overlay on my 06. In direct sunlight you can see the "ford" lettering behind it. but for the price Im happy the way they turned out.

I put the FX4 overlay over the front and rear FORD ovals (one on tailagte one on grille). I like the way they both turned out and besides for a couple little bubbles (my screw up) they look great!

if you take a needle and poke a tiny hole in the bubbles, then press the air out of the bubble, it'll go away. i had a couple small ones when i installed my overlay and now you'd never know they were there.

I was concerned that if I did that then I would get moisture in there and it was start peeling off? That's just a theory I had though?

X2. I've had mine on for 3 months after doing that and they still look like I just put them on.

did you make sure to use some soapy water when putting them on? then you start from the middle and press the soapy water out. that works great on all of my decals for the bike
