Question Aftermarket Coilover Question

Would adding aftermarket coilovers designed for a 6" lift (Procomp, Fabtech DL's) create the same angles as adding a 2" leveling kit with my current setup? I have a 4" Rancho suspension lift.

Also, can you buy the Procomp coilovers by themselves or are they only available with the whole stage 2 kit? Thanks.

As long as youdont crank them they should work. Don't know if you can buy the coilovers seperately. i tired and had no luck.

From what I have read, yes the coilovers have the same effect as a leveling kit. They are just a better eay to go about lifting your truck up some more, plus the adjustablility is endless. You can really dial in the stance you are looking for. I personally think your truck looks good as is. I was actually looking at your gallery today, thinking that the Rancho 4 in is the perfect amount of lift. Have you had any problems with it? And if you don't mind me asking what you paid for the kit? I may put a lift kit on at the end of the summer as soon as I make some money.

Thanks.....I paid just under $1700 for the lift and shocks. I have had no problems with it.

I really like the amount of lift I have too, but I can't find any aftermarket coilovers for a 4" lift. It sounds like Sway-a-way may be able to make some for me though, still checking on it.

yes but heres the thing, your cv angles become worse like as if you put in a coil spacer, that defeats the good points of having a lift kit, retaining close to stock cv angles, its the lower control arm drop points that should be lower that would not cause cv angle change... i had the 4" rancho and it was a great kit, i wouldnt add anything to it. honestly besides aftermarket coilovers or better shocks, the stock suspension off roads just as good as with a lift kit so your not getting anything better by adding space, ground clearence is negligible, and i think the stance is worse looking by adding space in the front if you dont have to

I know the angles will be worse, I was just wondering if the coilovers are a true 6" uncranked and no more - I wouldn't want to go any higher than 2" of stress on my angles.

If I do get coilovers, I'll probably just have some custom made to fit my 4" lift with the option of cranking them up a couple more inches.

That might be a good idea, I could also see it getting pricey for some custom made ones.
