New guy here... Few Questions.

FYI: this might be a bit long. sorry!

Have an 05 f150 Supercab Lariat. Went to install the 2.5 spacer on the front end today and the angles are just too scary for me. I offroad a lot and looks to be a bit sketchy. Now I am thinking of biting the bullet and getting a lift kit. I am new to trucks and lifts so please bare with me. I am looking at this Pro-Comp lift:
http://www.4wheelparts.com/PDT1053.aspx are there any issues I should be aware off when getting this item. Can I add front/back reservior shocks later? I heard about some lifts increasing front width and what can be done about that?

I am also looking at wheels and was looking at the pro comp 7005 18x9 6 on 135mm, with 5 in backspacing. Is there going to be any issue running these? I dont want the wheels to stick out too far or anything.

As far as tires I am torn but as of right now am looking at Nitto Mud Grapplers
35x12.50x18. Do they get decent miles out of them or should I be looking elsewhere.

Thanks alot guys. Sorry for the many questions but just want to make sure I am not getting into anything I cant handle.

I have that same lift kit on my F150. I run 35x12.50-R17 Mud Terrains on a 17x9 rim with 4.75" back spacing. There are no issues at all with rubbing so far.

You can upgrade the front end to coil-overs if you want to, and rear shocks are pretty much universal (you might have to drill the shock mount one size larger to go with Fox, or Bilstein). I am actually planning to run King or Fox coil-overs on my front end, and upgrade to remote-res. shocks in the rear of my truck.

Be sure to re-gear your truck after the lift and tires.

what kind of mpg are you getting? I may have to wait a few months to re-gear, wish I could do it all in one shot..

I am averaging about 12mpg split between city and highway. I am not re-geared yet either... 3.55's and 35's are not a good combo.

dont worry about re-gearing until you go with 37s. you can get 4.56s with 35s, but its pointless if you might ever go with 37s, since you will need 4.88s with those. i have the mud grapplers and i love them. as long as you rotate them every 5k miles, then you can get 30k miles out of them. the pro comp kit is a decent kit, i would suggest the stage 2 kit, but that one should be ok. cheapest stage 2 kit, is $2049 from 4wheelonline.com. check them out.
